Look Like Love: January 2013

“Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.” – Hebrews 13:3

The Voice of the Martyrs is a Christian-based organization committed to aiding the persecuted church around the world.  In countries that don’t tolerate the teachings of Christianity, many believers are persecuted daily for their faith.  Persecution can range from various degrees: verbal abuse, physical torture, imprisonment, and even death.

There are many ways that you can be a blessing to our brothers and sisters in Christ who are facing persecution around the globe:

1. Pray!  The most important thing you can do is pray.

2. Take action!  Support the help.  For more information on VOM or to donate to the great cause, visit www.persecution.com.

3.  Write a letter to a fellow believer in prison.  Visit www.prisoneralert.com to find out who is in prison for proclaiming the name of Jesus.

  • In the words of VOM’s president, James E. Dau, “Writing letters to Christians in prison did not begin in the twenty-first century.  Encouraging those imprisoned for their faith dates back to the early Church… Letter writing is one of the simplest and most practical ways of fellowshipping with our persecuted family.  It lets them know that they are not forgotten and that someone is praying for them.”
